14th March

Spring Social

Well after a nice break over the last few months its time to think about the season ahead, and start shaking down the boating gear!

Before we arrive at our first “On water event”, we are arranging an “Off Water Social Event” for Saturday 14th March. This is a great time to re-connect with other members and set the “buzz” for the spring and coming season!

We have reserved a private tour of Fort Nelson which is located on Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth Harbour and is one of the forts built to protect the Naval Harbour of Portsmouth from invasion not only from the sea but from inland too.  The Fort is owned and managed by Royal Armouries and houses a large collection of cannons/ tanks / and many more historic artefacts with amazing stories to tell.  Many items have been recovered from shipwrecks in and around Portsmouth, and you can see their conservation in action.
